Planning on Traveling with Your Pet? Let the Pros at The Corner Vet Help You Prepare!
Traveling with a domesticated animal, particularly to international destinations, requires a decent amount of legwork and documentation. For someone who isn’t familiar with the process, it can be downright confusing. To ensure that you are properly prepared and that your travel plans go off without a hitch, trust the experts at The Corner Vet – Bellaire.
Our accredited veterinarian can prepare and sign government documentation to enable your pet to travel abroad with you. Because each country has different requirements, you must be sure to do your research and double-check that you have requested the appropriate signatures from our team.
There are certain legal requirements that must be met in order for the hospital to process health certificate requests, and often the process can be time-consuming. Some countries require a 30-day preparation window, so please be sure to plan accordingly.
Whether you are traveling domestically or internationally, each state and country has its own specifications for travel requirements, and depending on where you are headed, you may need what’s referred to as a CVI or an IHC.
It’s critical that you read through the requirements for your destination thoroughly. We respectfully ask that you research your travel requirements before your scheduled appointment with us and request the appropriate documentation in advance. Learn more about travel requirements and guidelines.
Please note that there is a $35 deposit required in order to start the travel certification process. This fee will be applied as a credit towards the certificate. We are unable to make appointments for this service without prior vaccine and medical history. Once we’ve done our due diligence, someone from our team will contact you to finalize your appointment.
Please let us know if your airline requires a Health Certificate or Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. We are happy to provide one at the time of your visit.
