Valerie
Practice Manager
Hey, I’m Valerie! I attended the Vet Tech Institute and PIMA, where I laid the foundation for a career focused on clear communication, exceptional care, and team growth. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and daughter, creating silly videos with her beloved pets, Tilly and Timmy, exploring the outdoors, and discovering new restaurants to satisfy my adventurous palate.
Melisa
CSR
Hey, I’m Melisa! I was born and raised in Houston. I got into the field because I have a passion for animal care and enjoy bonding with fellow pet owners. I myself have 6 dogs (and counting because I clearly haven’t learned my lesson with picking up strays). I enjoy playing sports and hiking. My favorite pastime is painting and being crafty! ¡Hablo espanol!
Jesse
Veterinary Technician
Hi, I’m Jesse! I’m a Veterinary Technician with aspirations to become a Veterinarian. My favorite thing about this job is that I get to learn something new every day. I especially enjoy my time in surgery! I have 3 cats: Alex, Stella, and Lilac (like the flower and my favorite color). When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending my time cooking and camping. ¡Hablo espanol!
Daisa
Veterinary Technician
Hi, I’m Dasia! I was born in Louisiana and raised in ATL, I’ve always had a passion to heal the sick and a love for animals, so I decided to combine the two. I’ve been a Vet Tech for about 5 years now, and every time I step foot into a clinic/hospital, I get to learn something new, which excites me about this field. To be able to expand your knowledge on something you love is a great feeling for me. I also have 2 fur babies — one is a Siamese cat name Luna and a blue nosed Pit name Indigo whom I give the world to (very spoiled). My outside hobbies include artsy things like painting and writing poetry, and I also do nails!
Kassandra
Practice Manager
Howdy, I’m Kassandra! I’ve been in the field for nearly a decade, with each passing year further igniting my passion for animal welfare. I love being able to provide client education to owners so they may meet their pets exactly where they deserve to be met in order for them to live happily and healthily! I have 2 dogs and a cat that I affectionately coined as “The Sister Whiskers”. Their fur and love is bountiful in my home! My hobbies include practicing yoga, being outdoors, and reading — my favorite genres are Fantasy and Historical Fiction. ¡Hablo espanol!
Kim
Vice President of Operations
A lot of people own pets without fully knowing what it means to truly understand their pet. As a lifelong fan of animals, Kim came to this realization a long time ago and decided she wanted to help bridge the gap between people and their pets. As a practice manager at The Corner Vet – Bellaire, she’s able to interact with both people and pets on a daily basis, and help humans learn how to treat, care for and understand their beloved animals!
Born in Ohio, Kim’s family relocated to Texas when she was young. Her childhood was filled with memories of being involved with animals, whether it was hanging out on her grandparents farm or taking interest in aquatic science and marine biology in high school. After studying business management and entering the corporate world for a while, her love for animals led her back to the veterinary field, where she feels at home!
Kim relishes everything about her job, from the excitement to the unpredictability. She loves meeting with clients and educating them on facets of pet care that they may not have known. She also likes learning more about animals and the many things that can affect them.
Kim has been married for 21 years. She and her husband have 3 sons and 2 pets, a black cat named Nova and a Maltipoo dog named Teddy. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her boys, spoiling both of her pets, and she also dabbles in building and showing old school cars!

Dr. Khanh Tran
Medical Director
Dr. Tran has always loved medicine and animals. It wasn’t until she actually entered the veterinary field, however, that she truly felt it was her calling. Being an advocate for animals, fighting for the human-animal bond and making her patients’ quality of life a top priority are the guiding tenets of the care she provides.
After obtaining Bachelor’s Degrees in both Chemistry and Biology at the University of Houston, Dr. Tran went on to pursue her DVM at Texas A&M. Upon graduation, she moved back to the Houston area to be close to her family again. Clinically, Dr. Tran enjoys performing surgery because it requires a great degree of skill and allows her to work with her hands. She also enjoys doing international health certificates, because it enables clients to travel with their pets.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Tran resides in Pearland with her husband and their beautiful daughter. The family has one dog, Lacie, who has been with Dr. Tran since before vet school. Lacie has a spunky personality and is extremely food-motivated. She can often be seen at the clinic, running from person to person in hopes of tricking them into giving her a treat. (Spoiler alert: she’s usually successful.)When she’s not working, Dr. Tran enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors. She frequently goes on trips with her sisters and has since shared her passion for travel with her husband. Together, they look forward to showing their daughter the world!
Dr. Josie Flowers
Owner/Chief Medical Officer
Like most in the veterinary industry, Dr. Flowers has always had a deep compassion for animals. However, she did not set out, nor did she ever wish upon any star in the known galaxy to one day own a veterinary practice. Who would want that kind of stress? Practicing is stressful enough! Yet, for the first time in her storied life, she finally feels as though she has found her true calling: taking care of the people who care for the animals.
While attending Texas A&M for both her undergraduate and post-graduate education, Dr. Flowers spent time volunteering at an equine-only practice and also worked at several small animal and exotic clinics. Her goal was to gain experience in a little bit of everything. Following her graduation in May of 2008, Dr. Flowers moved to Greenville, TX, to join a mixed-animal practice. In 2015, she joined The Corner Vet team as an Associate Veterinarian. In May of 2016, she was promoted to Chief Medical Officer, and in June of 2020, she officially purchased the practice.
Professionally, Dr. Flowers is most passionate about helping veterinary students and newly graduated veterinarians navigate the transition from student to practitioner. The first year in practice is the most important and sets the stage for the remainder of one’s career and quite honestly, one’s personal life as well. She enjoys putting teams together, building the practice around the doctor and staff, and creating a culture that is both fulfilling and allows for balance on the home front.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Flowers is a proud Mom to two amazing kids: a daughter and a son. Her family resides in Rockwall, TX. Between single parenting, making ball games and practices, serving on the PTA Board, serving as Den Leader in Cub Scouts, travelling to Houston for business, and serving in her life group at church, she spends what little remaining free time she has with her family.
If there’s any advice that Dr. Flowers could give, it’s that life is short. You only get one, so don’t waste it. And above all, do not lose your sense of humor. Whether she’s going Mach 10, trying to do twenty things at once, putting her underwear on inside out, or putting her coffee mug in the fridge, Dr. Flowers is always ready for a good laugh.
